Palm Beach Opera Announces 2023 Season at Kravis Center

Palm Beach Opera is excited to announce the planned repertoire for its 2023 Season, which will feature Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly,” Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” and for the first time, Verdi’s “Falstaff” beginning in January next year.

Following up on the company’s memorable 60th anniversary season, Palm Beach Opera’s 2023 opera titles are among the most popular and performed operas in the world. The highly-anticipated 2023 Season will present Puccini’s iconic “Madama Butterfly” on Jan. 20-22, Mozart’s brilliant “Così fan tutte” on Feb. 24-26, and Verdi’s Shakespeare-inspired “Fallstaff” – for the first time in company history – on March 24-26. All performances will take place at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.

“After the success of our historic 60th anniversary season, we are thrilled to follow up with another extraordinary season of live opera, featuring three timeless operas and artists from around the world,” said PBO’s General and Artistic Director David Walker. “PBO’s 2023 Season offers a unique chance for audiences to experience three must-see operas all in one season, making it a perfect opportunity for new operagoers and devoted fans alike.”

Palm Beach Opera will open its 2023 Season with Puccini’s iconic “Madama Butterfly,” one of the most beloved operas in the repertoire. Featuring soaring lyricism, a haunting score, and an enduring drama of unrequited love, “Madama Butterfly” is a deeply moving masterpiece.

Palm Beach Opera’s second mainstage production presents Mozart’s intriguing “Così fan tutte,” a brilliant and sophisticated comedy of twin romances. Thought-provoking and playful, Mozart’s classic opera offers humor and insight into human nature.

Based on Shakespeare’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” Verdi’s cherished “Falstaff” will mark Palm Beach Opera’s final mainstage opera of the 2023 Season. The famed composer’s final opera, “Falstaff” brings Shakespeare’s notorious knight to life with an ensemble tour-de-force and a lighthearted, whimsical story.

All productions will be sung in Italian with English supertitles projected above the stage.
