Megan Graves^

Megan Graves is a mezzo-soprano from Fort Worth, Texas who is currently a Bailey Apprentice Artist with Palm Beach Opera. Graves holds degrees in Vocal Performance from Eastman School of Music (BM)in addition to an MM from the University of Cincinnati’s CCM. She was a District Winner in the Houston District of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2021, and received an Encouragement Award at the Gulf Coast Regionals of MONC. Additionally, Graves has won the Three Arts Fund Vocal Competition in both 2020 and 2021. In the first year of her Masters Degree at CCM, Graves sang the role of Quickly in Falstaff and Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte. As a member of Cincinnati Opera Chorus and Ensemble, Graves performed in Carmen and Tosca as well as being featured as a soloist in Cincinnati Opera’s Community Outreach Program. Graves also sang the roles of Nelly, Julien and Heather in Cincinnati Opera, Opera Fusion’s workshop production of Kevin Puts’ opera The Hours for The Metropolitan Opera. As a part of Palm Beach Opera’s 2022 season, Graves will perform the role of Second Witch in their production of Dido and Aeneas, cover Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas), and study cover the roles of Carmen and Mercédès in Carmen. A consummate musician and passionate lover of contemporary music, Graves is thrilled to be creating the role of Rumer in the world premiere of William Menefield’s opera Fierce with Cincinnati Opera this summer.
