Kyle White

American Baritone Kyle White has found success performing roles from the standard repertoire as well as modern repertoire. For the 2021/2022 season, Mr. White returns as an Apprentice Artist to Palm Beach Opera where he will cover Le Dancaïre and study cover Escamillo in Carmen, study cover Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, study cover Danilo in The Merry Widow, and cover Dido in Dido and Aeneas.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 saw Mr. White set to perform as Valentin in Faust with Opera NEO, as well as Schaunard in La bohème and Peter in Hansel and Gretel with Kentucky Opera. Mr. White continued his engagement virtually with Kentucky Opera in their reimagined 2020/2021 season. Mr. White joined Palm Beach Opera as an Apprentice Artist in 2021 where he covered Schaunard in La bohème, covered the Second Armored Man and Second Priest and study covered Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, study covered Silvio in Pagliacci, and covered Lorenzo and Capellio in I Capuleti e i Montecchi. Mr. White was also an encouragement award winner of the North Carolina district in the 2021 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

Other notable credits include Older Thompson in Glory Denied, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, John Sorel in The Consul, the Baritone in Hydrogen Jukebox, and Le Geôlier in Dialogues des Carméliteswith Boston Conservatory Opera, as well as the Second Apprentice (cover) in Wozzeck, Marcello (study cover) in La bohème, the Sailor in Candide, and Top (cover) in Copland’s The Tender Land with Des Moines Metro Opera. Mr. White has also performed as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, Harold Hill in The Music Man, and Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia with the Seagle Music Colony, and in productions with Michigan State University Opera Theatre including Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro and Belcore in L’elisir d’amore.

On the concert stage, Mr. White has performed as the Bass soloist in Handel’s Messiah and the Baritone soloist in Duruflé’s Reqiuem with the Michigan State University College of Music, as well as the Baritone soloist in Fauré’s Requiem with the Neponset Choral Society. Mr. White holds a B.M. in Voice Performance from Michigan State University, and a M.M. in Opera Performance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
