A highlight of the Palm Beach social calendar each year, the gala brings together opera lovers and community leaders to enjoy an evening of glamour, artistry, and a delectable dinner, while supporting the company’s continued mission of bringing world-class opera to South Florida.

About Christian Van Horn

This past season, 2018 Richard Tucker Award winner Christian Van Horn returned to the Metropolitan Opera for his role debut as the title role in Mefistofele, and in the productions of La bohème and La Clemenza di Tito, following his performance from the previous season as Julio in the American premiere of Thomas Adés’ The Exterminating Angel. The bass-baritone also made his debut at the Paris Opera as Narbal in Les Troyens, and returned to the Bayersiche Staatsoper as Escamillo in Carmen.

This season, he performs at the San Francisco Opera as Zoroastro in Orlando and John Claggart in Billy Budd, before appearing as Walter in Luisa Miller at Lyric Opera of Chicago. He then returns to the Metropolitan Opera for roles as Colline in La bohème and The Doctor in Wozzeck, and the Met’s New Year’s Eve Gala, before joining us for our Gala on February 10, 2020.
