RISING STARS & CLASSIC MELODIES

DECEMBER 18, 2018 at 7:00PM
Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

A night of… Rising Stars & Classic melodies is a concert that will offer a unique opportunity to enjoy exceptional singers on the brink of international stardom, featuring the vocal talents of Palm Beach Opera’s Benenson Young Artist and Apprentice Artist Programs.

For one night only, these promising singers will present some of the most challenging and popular vocal arrangements from Opera and Broadway.

LA TRAVIATA

by Giuseppe Verdi

JANUARY 25, 26, 27m, 2019
Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

In the salon of Violetta’s Parisian apartment, any cause to celebrate inspires a lavish party. But when Violetta unexpectedly meets her first real love, Alfredo, will moral obligations of society and a life-threatening illness keep her from the promise of true love?

Verdi specialist Maestro Antonello Allemandi, who recently conducted the company’s internationally acclaimed production of Rigoletto, returns to conduct this musically extraordinary and dramatically heartbreaking masterpiece.

DON GIOVANNI

by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

FEBRUARY 22, 23, 24m, 2019
Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

Don Giovanni is a young, arrogant, and charismatic aristocrat, who will stop at nothing to challenge unrequited lust – even if it means violence. But after one seductive conquest ends in murder, Don Giovanni finds himself at odds with the vengeful women from his past, and a simmering force beneath the surface.

In a production inspired by film noir, Mozart’s matchless opera is a brilliant combination of stark human tragedy and touching comedy, set to lavishly orchestrated music of limitless genius.

DIE FLEDERMAUS

by Johann Strauss II

MARCH 22, 23, 24m, 2019
Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

It’s New Year’s Eve at Prince Orlofsky’s lavish masquerade ball, where Viennese guests waltz, drink, and revel in opulence, blissfully oblivious to an elaborate revenge plan taking place. Not even the Prince knows who will be appearing during the party, but after a delightful evening of waltzes,
misunderstandings, rendezvous gone- wrong, and a final unmasking of lies, only champagne is to blame in Strauss’ intoxicating and high-spirited comedy about revenge, deception, and disguise.
