In a last-minute substitution, Palm Beach Opera Young Artist Bridgette Gan made her mainstage debut as Marie in The Daughter of the Regiment.
WHAT IS A YOUNG ARTIST?
The Benenson Young Artist Program at Palm Beach Opera is a stepping stone to a successful career as an opera singer for post-graduate and emerging singers. During their five-month residency in Palm Beach they develop and polish essential stagecraft and performance skills, aided by musical and career guidance from Palm Beach Opera’s experienced artistic staff.
The Young Artists are Palm Beach Opera’s community ambassadors, performing throughout the area in education and outreach concerts as well as covering lead roles and performing comprimario roles on the mainstage.
In a continued commitment to #OperaForAll, Palm Beach Opera launched a successful Sensory Friendly Initiative this season providing access to Children’s Performance for families with children on the Autism Spectrum.
Once again, the Education Stations were popular amongst children and adults alike! Participants learned about orchestral instruments from Chafin Musicenter, enjoyed music and math time with Boca Raton Children’s Museum, and created works of musical art with Resource Depot.
More than 600 Sponsored Ticket recipients attended Children’s Performance. Fifteen Title I schools and non-profits took advantage of Sponsored Tickets this season including ARC of Palm Beach County, Boys and Girls Club of Wellington and Palm Beach, Cub Scouts, Jupiter Elementary, and Egret Lake Elementary.
